Chinese jewelry factories can produce gold-plated stainless steel jewelry in a very wide range of shapes and designs, from simple geometric pieces to highly customized 3D forms.
Common examples include:
- Geometric: circles, squares, ovals, triangles, twisted and irregular shapes
- Nature-inspired: flowers, leaves, butterflies, snakes, shells, stars, hearts
- Animal designs: lions, snakes, eagles, cats, dogs, etc.
- Chain-based: necklaces, bracelets, anklets, chain earrings
- Pendant designs: letters, numbers, logos, religious symbols, zodiac signs
- Ring designs: smooth bands, textured surfaces, engraved patterns, sculptural rings
- Earrings: hoops, studs, drops, huggies, asymmetric and statement designs
- Custom 3D shapes: molded, cast, CNC-machined, or laser-cut forms
- Brand-specific shapes: OEM/ODM designs based on a customer’s drawings, samples, CAD files, or logos
For gold-plated stainless steel, factories commonly use 304 or 316L stainless steel, followed by polishing and surface treatment such as PVD gold coating. PVD is particularly suitable for jewelry because it can produce relatively consistent gold-colored finishes and good wear resistance.
The important distinction, especially when evaluating Chinese suppliers, is that being able to show many shapes in an online catalog does not necessarily mean the company manufactures them itself. A genuine factory should be able to demonstrate its own production capabilities—such as molding/casting, CNC, polishing, welding, PVD plating, assembly, QC, and actual production equipment or workshop records.
If you’re evaluating factories, I would put actual in-house manufacturing capability above the number of designs shown on Alibaba or other online stores.
